Tucked away on a quiet side street in historic downtown Newport, this charming two-story building dates all the way back to 1766! The property is half residential, half retail, and Innovative Construction had the pleasure of bringing back all of its faded beauty with a gentle restoration. With the bottom retail section of the structure complete, the old exposed beams stand tall against the newly sheetrocked and painted interior walls. The hardwood floors were stripped, sanded and re-sealed to a glossy shine. All new electrical wiring was put in, running along the ceiling and the exposed posts, which gives the historic building a touch of modern industrial style. Finally, a fresh coat of paint on the exterior welcomes tourists to this lovely little gem of a jewelry store. One final note about this property, the historic plaque to the right of the front door reads, Built by Joshua Saunders for his daughter Freelove Remson 1766.

With a gorgeous backdrop of the Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge and Narragansett Bay, we teamed with the Davidson Group to take an existing ‘snack shack’ at the Hyatt Hotel and turn it into a full-service kitchen and bar. On top of the ground up infrastructure, we took care of all the landscaping and hardscaping. Since our renovation the Hyatt has been acquired by Gurney’s, but our seaside remodel remains.

St. Philomena’s School has been a fixture since the early 1960’s with several buildings sprawled across their fifteen campus. This project focused on exterior work on, the auditorium, art center and the main building’s back porch. First, we screened in the existing back porch on the main building, adding double doors and a fresh coat of white paint. We re-sided the art building and finished it off with paint and new exterior electrical fixtures. Finally, the façade of the auditorium was treated to new trim and paint.
